Accountability and Transparency

It is important for my office to be transparent in its work and I am delighted that we have won the Transparency Award for four years in a row. This means that my official website has information available to the public about my decisions, my spending and what I do on a day to day basis. This helps you all be armchair auditors of my work and helps you understand what I am spending tax payers money on.

I am always willing to be interviewed by journalists, reporters and presenters to enable you to hear about what I believe in and enable greater public visibility of my actions and decisions too.

However, the ultimate opportunity and for good governance purposes is the role of the Police and Crime Panel for Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This panel comprises of appointed elected members by each local authority and independents who can apply to personally join and be part of scrutinising and supporting me to carry out this role on behalf of our communities across the area. You can find out more about the Panel here.
